Ishag Jafarzadeh : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ishag Jafarzadeh Ishag () Mammadrza oglu Jafarzadeh ((アゼルバイジャン語:İshaq Məmmədrza oğlu Cəfərzadə), August 14, 1895, Ganja–January 5, 1982, Baku) was one of the pioneers of Azerbaijan archaeology and ethnography. He excavated over seventy artifacts on Azerbaijan's territory and studied the Gobustan rock paintings.〔''Azerbaijan Soviet Encyclopedia'' (1987), vol. 10, pp. 430-431〕 In 1948, during the Gobustan expedition, he discovered the Latin rock inscription near mountain Boyukdash, some 70 km far from Baku, which is the easternmost Roman evidence to be known.〔(Qobustan - Petroglyphs and Mud Volcanoes > Qobustan National Reserve )〕 ==Notes==
